It's been a week since our arrival and I think we have gotten into the routine of things here. Into our second week and with everyone off to work the boys are spending their mornings efficiently, Jamie doing his holiday homework and both of them practising their piano pieces. They also get to watch all the great childrens programs on tv, so good for their listening skills.

Jamie's school gave out free tickets to a soccer match, Fukuoka vs Yokohama.
Apart from our time in Italy, this was the first time in Japan for the boys.

Despite a light rainfall in the morning the Sports day went ahead as planned. Most of the fathers met at 7:30am to set up the tents and the kids walked to school as usual.
We were quite excited for Jamie's first sports day since entering primary school, and were eager to see how fast he was compared to the other boys.
He was first in his group for the sprint.

We've been through this 3 times with Jamie and now it's Markie's turn, his kinder sports festival was held today. The weather was just right sunny with a cool breeze making it more comfortable for the little ones to do their events.

Wataru took the boys fishing to Keya today. With their handmade fishing rods of bamboo sticks they got quite a catch!

With the summer holidays coming to an end we were able to manage an afternoon of bowling with some old mates from kinder, unfortunately they are now all going to different schools.

The children are able to use the primary school pool even during the summer holidays. Lucky kids but the poor parents have to take turns in watching them...
Checkout the great view of Mt Kaya in the back.
