Life at 247-1

The boys seemed to be over their chicken pox so for the last day of the holidays we decided to go out. I was desperately searching for a particular pearl bead to finish off a pair of earrings that I had been making and the most likely place for me to find it would be Tenjin (city centre), so that's where we went. After a late start we arrived at the city in time for lunch and after that while Jamie and Daddy headed off to the bookstore, I put Markie in the pram and prayed for him to fall asleep! Voila!! Wish granted, he was down in less than 5 minutes. I spent nearly 3 hours browsing through a newly opened art/craft store, Yuzawaya, it was PARADISE!! Yes, I found my bead and had a splendid time in doing so, all those beautiful coloured beads, crystal, pearl, natural stones.......

For all those mothers out there with little children, how do you cope with the daily stress of housework and children?? For me, I've discovered that making my own accessories from beads and or asian knotting helps me to forget the screaming and the crying! Plus the fact that you can actually enjoy what you make always puts a smile on my face.

This is a recent bracelet that I made for a friend, a combination of asian knotting and beads.
