Life at 247-1

Today was the beginning of a 3 day special opening sale at Eon, a new shopping center opened nearby containing 100 specialty shops and Jusco department store. A special invitation was given out for only the locals to attend this pre-grand opening sale, so of course I couldn't resist the urge. After sending Jamie off to kinder, Markie and I hopped in the car and were there in about 15 mins. Lots to see and lots I wanted to buy....but of course I had to control myself! Did find some good bargains on kids clothing, bought some needed pants and tops for the ever growing Jamie. Poor Markie has to make do with the hand me downs! We spent a nice morning enjoying the atmosphere and browsing the various stores, I think it wore Markie out because he fell alseep on the way home in the car.

Being a Sunday and feeling lazy it was a last minute decision to go to Ogi, a place in Saga prefecture famous for Carp cuisine. We invited another family from Kinder and all set off in our car for the hour long drive. Soon to be Children's Day ( May 5th), here in Japan most houses with little boys fly their carp kites to celebrate and we got an interesting view of flying carp over a river on the way to Ogi.

It started yesterday morning, actually I wasn't feeling too well the day before yesterday and thought I had come down with a cold or the flu, so I took some medicine and went to bed. Despite a rather restless night of turning and tossing I felt kinda better the next morning and thought I had gotten the better of whatever it was.....well that was not to be, I discovered I had broken out in little spots.
